TORONTO: 24 photographers. 400+ portraits. 40+ Wheatpasters. All City.

As part of the Global Art Initiative Inside Out, Manifesto Festival – in conjunction with the festival’s All Art Everything art show at the Art Gallery of Ontario – brings together 24 photographers to shoot community members and put their images up in their communities, making the city itself the gallery. [Manifesto – Inside Out]

An intergenerational theme required photographers to find people of different age group and backgrounds. I (Ahmed Sagarwala of Artform.ca) was one of the 24 photographers that took part in the project and also help document and wheatpaste. A total of 34 shots were put up around the GTA. Some of my work was up in the Shaw district and Kensington market.

Below are some more of my shots being put up. Not all of the portraits are taken by me. The full selection of shots have been posted on Flickr. I’ve also created a set featuring the wheatpasting in Kensington Market, downtown Toronto.

Inside Out Portrait Set

I realize this post is about 2 months overdue, but I recently had someone recognize my work and show some appreciation for my efforts. If you’ve seen this portraits downtown, I’d love to hear your feedback in the comments!
